Can employees who are prescribed and are using medical marijuana be disciplined for testing positive? What are the restrictions and timelines for administering these Drug & Alcohol Tests? States, such as Colorado, have already adopted the legalization of medical marijuana and are under the spotlight nationally as this new evolution of health care treatment changes and adopts new standards which affect employers. Now that the new MN laws regarding this “hot” new topic go into effect on June 1st, what will be the new requirements for employers who have Drug & Alcohol (D & A) Testing Programs in MN? What are the limitations for legal medical use of marijuana here? There are many legal implications tied into a D & A Testing Program so the importance of making sure you understand these implications and requirements will be of high importance.
